Was going thru a nearby town today and saw an older looking park bordered by a stone wall. I'm fairly new to this area. Stopped and grabbed my detector. Always carry one in car. Nothing but new. I went to a low spot in the middle of the park that was approx. 20 yds wide 50 yds long first coin 43 merc. In all 1 folded silver wash. quarter 43 and 44 mercs 30, 36, 51, 52 wheats and 1 pair of official looking shoes standing in front of me. Town policeman. Turned out he just wanted to tell me his dad has a whites and detects all the time. Nice guy.

3 silvers & some wheaties, WTG!
I'd say there's definitely somemore there. keep dig'n...
Cool deal, about the police. they have never bothered me, yet...
I would much rather see them sit'n in their car watching me, then some gang of punks...
Good luck & Happy hunting~

sound like his dad would make a great hunting partner ;) congrats on the great day ..............;jeff

Great finds! The police officer sounds like a nice guy too. Jim Cal

Congrats on the nice digs. And like Jeff said, the police officers dad would make a good hunting partner. Who knows maybe he is a member of the forum. Good Luck and Happy Hunting. Joe

Really Great Finds..... Were the coins very deep...? The parks
around here are pretty old.... and if I'm lucky enough to find a
silver coin, they always seem to be right on the maximum depth
limit of my IDX Pro.( about 7 inches... If I'm swinging the coil tight
to the ground) I'm sure I'd find more silver, if I could get more
depth. What kind of depth do you get with your dectector.......?

Keep'm coming... & HH BRINK

Nice digs and post, seems to be the same in most cities, got to have more and more.HH

Good days hunt there (especially) for just a short time in a park!

I'd keep going back, it sounds like there's a chance at older stuff if you found mercs, and wheats rgt away and not too deep!

Is the park really old?

anyway

HH and keep posting your finds!

Actually i did ask him if his dad wanted a partner, being new here, i been hoping to find one. But his dad lives in oregon and i'm in calif. The policeman said he played in the park when he was a kid, and thought the park was from the 40,s and he looked to be 40. The 43 merc and 30 wheat were an honest 7 inches. Was using a Minelab Musketeer Advantage that i just got. Though the signals were softer on the 2 deep ones, it still picked em up with ease. Have ordered a 10inch coil for same machine, and will go back and try with it. Thanks guys for the encouragement. May your next coin be gold.

Wow! Sounds like good hunting to me. Nice finds and keep at it. Get to know them LEO's, they know where all the good spots are.

I have a whites that i love as well, now,now... nothing sexual. But for the price this musketeer has really impressed me.

Always fun to find Mercs and make a friend along the way Congrats

NIce cop! Nice Silver! Just a nice day all around. By the way, nothing wrong with living in Oregon. I like it. Congrats on the silver. Spotz

What type of signal did you get on your MD with the policemans shoes? ;D

49er At first i thought it was going to be a stop signal.

Spotz Nothing wrong with oregon, it's the people that are strang......uh...i mean.... Naah just kidding. My first wife and me lived in northwest oregon by Newberg in 80 and 81. Found my first 2 V nickels at a school in nearby Dundee, Oregon
