In grateful recognition of those who left our temple to lay their all on the alter of world freedom
Found this.... I suspect the pistol medal is a stock medal that was available to be engraved with whatever club name on it....Not sure on age. An American Chinese Gun Club Medallion
The first is definitely a medal that was given to a mason upon returning to the lodge after leaving for battle. It would have been during a meeting and behind closed doors. Very cool find if you would be willing to part with it id say contact one of the lodges. They in turn if your not willing to part with it would be able to look into the archives of the lodges named on it and could even tell who recieved it and on what day. We keep very good track of all the things we do.
Also O.E.S is order of the eastern star which is mostly masons wifes or widows.
R.A.M. Are the Royal Arch Masons.
And the famous F&A.M Free And Accepted Masons
No problem i got in touch with someone at the next meeting he will be showing the pictures around. If you cleaned it up could you post some cleaner photos so i can send them to him. He said some of the old timers may know and if not the archives will be looked into at the grand lodge. And not a problem anything masonic really gets me thinking and there is so much they gave to everyday life. A friend of mine at a yard sale picked up what the home owner thought was a paper towel hanger and turns out it was a old ceremony piece. So its on display in our lodge now. Another item was a box picked up from a thrift store turned out to be a old mason voting box. Items are all over just wating to be found. Ill stay in touch.
In the lodge there is a bronze plaque with about 100 names of people who served in the war from the lodges named. They have no knowledge of what they look like but there is an old timer there who is linked to my lodge. And will be looking into it more. Also the guy i am talking to mentioned if you would be willing to donate it to the lodge so it could possibly be put on display next to the plaque with the mens names on it. It is entirely up to you since it is your find. If you do not want to that is fine as well Just let me know and I can give you his name and address I will post more as I find out
