There is no one detector that will do all the things you want to do with it, but some come close. About any detector can be used to hunt the dry sand at the ocean beaches, but the wet saltwater sand needs a different animal. For saltwater wet sand I'd suggest a Sov GT or an Excal as these have good discrimination. The Sov GT is a great relic detector as is the Tesoro Tejon. Gold nugget hunting for those small nuggets is best done with a decicated gold detector like a Super Lobo. The AT PRO seems to be the one many like now days for their hunting.

You are serious in your quest(s)....don't get one, get two, get an Etrac and a F75, for the absolute best detecting experience(s) of your life. Get a bunch of accessory coils and a really good high quality scoop and a good digger too. Get a mentor ASAP.

You might want to look at Whites V3i also.
It's loaded with programs for all the hunting areas you want to go. Beech, Relic, Prospecting just to name a few. It's fully customizable to search anywhere and for whatever your looking for.
It won't go underwater though.
There's tons of videos on YouTube that shows it in action plus Whites home page has videos of it.

BillyD,

Lots of good info and post here! As was said, not one detector will do all your asking. You kinda have to have the right tool for the job. Sov GT, Etrac or Excal will excel on the beach. If you want to get it wet go minelab excal no doubt.

Gold look into the Fisher gold bug pro, Fisher gold bug II, Tek G2 Minelab 705 gold edition, Garrett AT GOLD. All great machines with all different attributes.

Feel free to give me a call. I can explain all your options and the different machines. There are TONS of choices out there as you can see. Love to help ya, Bart.

The Whites MXT was designed to do all the things you have mentioned although it is not submersible for surf hunting. You might consider the MXT if you can buy only one detector.
