Meteorite or wishful thinking?

Hi! Was up rocking hunting in Michigan and found this. It’s heavy and very magnetic! We were in an area that has a lot of natural iron...but also an area that had a meteorite hit two years ago.

Unfortunately it did not pass the scratch test but I’m hoping someone can tell me it might still be a meteorite! (Or maybe tell me what it is instead lol). Thanks!

Good to ask for opinions though you never know. I live in Ann Arbor Ive also heard of some meteorites falling some day we will both get one of those bad boys
