Question to all Metro Detroit CRHers, Are you finding any halves in machine wrapped halves? I have found 2 40% Kennedys in around $2000 worth of machine wrapped rolls. Is anyone here doing any better?

I live about 60 miles from Detroit. All my halves come from near that area, and heavily marked. My order last week contained 1-40% out of $2k in halves. There is one Tnet member here that lives in that area, he hasn't posted much in the last year though. My advice - hit the dimes, all the customer-rolled you can find. The quantity of silvers found will probably make up for their tiny size.

Probably all the silver has been turned into pawn shops like "Hardcore Pawn". LOL

In watching the show.. I just get such a negative view of Detroit with all those crazy poor people. Obviously it's a show.. so they show the worst of the worst.

Yep I live in Metro Detroit,

Lately I have not been ordering boxes, just looking for customer rolled halves. I was having some luck with boxes, but was low on cash a few months ago and just sort of quit ordering. I did find one 1943 liberty in a box that I bought from a bank in Belleville about three weeks ago. I have even ventured into the "hood" looking for halves I have only scored once with two rolls of customer rolled halves, they contained 6 90%. I still believe it is all a matter of luck. Yesterday on the way back from Ohio I stopped a one bank out of 30 or 40 I passed, I found 10 war nickles and 3 buffalo's in $50 worth of nickles. I remember when she was putting the rolls on the counter I was going to ask for paper rolls but decided to take the plastic brinks rolls and look what happened.

Your just not going to find anything unless you stop and ask. I dropped my kids off at the movies today and was able to run a few errands and stop by four banks and found 6 dollars in clad halves. The chase is half the fun.

I was in Roseville, Mi a few weeks ago and called the bank close to my mom's house before I got there and asked them to order a $1,000 worth of halves. Took a bit of over the phone explaining, but they finally said OK. Not one keeper in the boxes, so if that is any indication of what Detroit has you can keep it!! I ordered through Chase branch near mom and dropped it off at another Chase in another town. Never do that where I live, but since I was not going to be coming back for a year, didn't matter.
