Really cool finds, and I can't remember the last time someone's found a nickel 3-center on Tnet, congrats!

Congrats on the 3 center, really like that lock and key too :headbang:

Good luck,
HH.

Love the big lock. It would be cool to use electrolosis to clean it up. Looks like a SW token also. Nice digs!

You got a load of finds, great job. I'm told the workers got paid once a year, so finding coins in lumber camps is tuff. That coin is way cool. Looking for the old camps is what I like to do also. I found one coin, a 1885 dime in great shape.

One more pic i forgot to post. Mostly misc. pieces and parts?

Sweet lock and key along with a cool assortment of relics. WTG on the 3 Center too!! :icon_thumleft:

p.s. Welcome to the MI forum. :hello:

If I dare ask this question. What research would have to be done to locate logging camps? I have some property by Custer and the back side has an old RR grade. I have been told it was use just for logging. I have found parts of the track and they are a lot smaller in size than a regular RR track.

Thanks

Jon

great find i am very interested in the logging era. I also live in michigan but how did you or do you locate the old logging camps? I am a avid hunter and fisherman so im in the outdoors alot but new to relic hunting / metal detecting any tips would be great thanks

I'm lovin' the lock~and with the key in it too! :icon_thumleft: I guess I don't see the CW token-where is it in the pic?
Great digs and beautiful country up there, I go every year for salmon on the Big Two Hearted.

Great job cleaning up that lock. Have yet to find a 3 center silver or nickel.
