An outcrop of microcline feldspar . The pics don't show the color to good as the sun was beating down and they are a little washed out. A deep salmon color. Could not find any terminated crystals, but thought you might like the pis.

Pegmatite eh? Looks like a good spot to dig around a bit.

Ive seen lots of stuff that looks like that down my way. I always thought it was iron stain type of thing. Now I know, lol.

Yeah man! There is a place near my home where the creek passes through a gorge and there are walls of this laced with small Quartz veins. I would poke around some. It used to be called "Potash Feldspar" I do believe. :thumbsup:

It has had many names. Potash Feldspar, K Feldspar I believe even Alkali feldspar has been used. But I'm not 100% sure.:occasion14:
