mid 1700's site ,need a ID on a peice that resembles a decoder of some sort
I have had this peice for a year and decided to clean it up , it used to have a front ,center and a back till a friend mishandled it and broke it appart shattering the whole back of it . It is the exact size of a penny ,made of brass .The front has a cut out in the shape of a peice of pie and oppisite of the cut out is a small hole. The center peice has random letters some are legable some are not .The front has writting but can only make out a capitol M and a U . Has anyone ever seen anything like this ? I am not sure what it is ,it looks like some sort of decoder or something becuase the center turned at one time and there are two places to line up the letters one in the cut out and the other in the small hole ..any help is greatly appreciatted .The site dates back to the late early mid 1700's .
