I feel your frustration – as you can see between the 2 of us -there can't be anymore nails !! hahaha
I am new to md ing – only been at it for about a month now – but it has been a lifelong dream to own a md. But I've been reading this forum since Nov. Now that I have one I can't stop !!!! Can't wait to do parents house down state. What's not pictured aluminum storm door, chevy hub cap, coffee can filled with cement, aluminum pole that is buried, bbq grate, barbed wire, trailer parts, numerous can lids, 2007 dog tags, foil pie tins, sardine cans, lawnmower parts, broken screw driver, and pop cans. I am also on an old site -renting an old farm house in Northern Michigan right on Main Street. There was a school, hotel, barn, store, and post office in this area. I can not get a foot out of the door and the md goes off and I dig and dig and dig the signals seem to never stop. I know our LUCK will change. I see you got a merc in your change, I got a 1899 indian the other day in mine. HH

Look at it this way, Deb. The more trash you clear out the less you'll have to dig to get to the REAL goodies. Also, it takes a while to get anything good. I hunted for years before I got my first silver and got that because some very nice people took pity on me and showed me some good places. Good Luck! :cat:

the one item looks like a spur * from a set of boots --its sort of u shaped with a leg off the u with two holes in it

5th photo 2nd item in the top row from the left side*
harimonica reed too I see next to the RR spike

very awesome finds! At least you got keepers! That sucks that you had to go through that many nails just to get that one indian head penny. Well I hope many more treasures come your way!

Thank you - I know the more trash I dig the more I will find, but I haven't even got to the front yard yet. I'm only a 1/8 of the way out the back door, scanned the field that's where I found the door,& bbq grate. Everywhere I go I get signals 8+ deep even the sidewalks ring.

I didn't get to dig the IH it was given to me in change by a teenager who didn't know. But I am hopeful. I have lots more nails to dig.

I was thinking the same thing, but it also reminds me of a cheese slicer handle too. I thopught the reed was part of a clamp - I was going to toss it - but since I read "today's finds" every morning - I knew what it was.

I have learned so much on this forum since Nov. You Guys & Gals are AWESOME !!!!
