Mile High Club

No, not that mile high club. :laughing7:

I brought a box of halves on my flight back to college and searched it, everybody around me was staring with a weird look on their faces. I also had a hard time getting it through security. Some TSA lady pulled it out of my backpack and started staring at it, then she called me over and asked what it was. Seemed really angry. Then I pointed out that it was a bank sealed box of coins and she let me through hesitantly.

It was worth the trouble though, ended up with 6 90% Kens and a '36 Walker. Anyone else CRH on a plane? :laughing9:

I would NEVER crh in "public"... nice finds though! you're probrably the first one on here to crh at 36,000 ft :laughing7:

Nice box, is that a SLO box or a NV box? Does it take them a while to order a box for you in SLO? Don't worry, I'm no longer in the area and am not returning there at any point. Just remember them telling me that it would take 2 weeks to order a box. Was always curious about it. Up here, they get the box the following week so there's not a lot of waiting time.

Nice box btw. I really think that is a first. I don't fly but I can't imagine taking a box with me on a flight.

Definitely SLO box. From what I've heard Vegas boxes are horrible so I didn't bother during my short vacation. And as for ordering time, I wouldn't know because all I've ever gotten has been whatever they had at the time. This was the first time I've had $500 to spare and now that my schedule allows more time to puck up, dump, and search, I'll be ordering more and find out. I've been told a week at the most delay though.

I recall back then the BoA there was pretty good for finding silver and had some luck with customer rolls. Course, silver was $4/oz back then. I don't know about now but I can see it being good. Bunch of older folks and students who don't know a thing about coins. Good combo for hunting. Santa Barbara isn't too far away and there a ton of older folk there. Wished I had the funds to get a box back then. Being a starving college student at the time, all I cared about was beer money.

Although, you would think NV would be good. There's a poster here that says he's from the Silver State so I assume it's NV. Seems like he still finds silver. Remember that NV had all those casinos where they used a ton of silver halves back in the day.
