🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Military Cufflink?

Greetings All,

I found this item a few days ago in the woods. It appears to be a cufflink, with a sunrise motif on the top, and crossed swords below. Does anyone recognize the design. I'm trying to date it. The three ringer is there to provide some size perspective. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks!

As a SWAG, I'm thinking a Veteran's lapel badge. Sort of looks like a V over an S or vice versa.

Sons of Veterans (of the Civil War or USA) possibly. I´m searching images now.
I can´t find an exact match but search Sons of Veterans, images.

The Sons of Veterans Association (formally the Sons of Veterans of the United States of America) was the official successor to the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR), preserving the legacy of Union Civil War veterans. The GAR officially endorsed it on 25 July 1883, recommending that all GAR posts support and encourage the creation of new SV camps. It still exists today, but was renamed the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) in 1925.

The Grand Army of the Republic was founded just up the road from me in Decatur IL. That was Post 1. Early in 1866 I believe. There were many Civil War Veterans from my area. IL was second in the number of Union troops involved in the Civil War.
