🏆 HONORABLE MENTION Military Dog Tag Going Back to 100 Year Old WWII Vet

I still can't believe it. Back in 2019 I posted (link below) about a military dog tag I was given by a friend who found it detecting in the El Paso, TX area. Some readers gave me info and I followed-up, but wasn't able to locate the veteran and whether he was still alive, nor could I find relatives despite making some calls. I always kept it on my desk and thought one day I might have some luck with his family. Today I had some time so I googled him again and a news story pops up that he turned 100 last Feb. I called the newspaper editor and through her I found that he's still alive! It was amazing news. Then I got on the phone with him and he was very with it and remembered serving in that area. He was thrilled to learn he would get it back. I'm going to mail it out to him and the newspaper will do another story. What an honor to return it to this WWII hero. Thanks for those who provided the prior help. I'll send them messages so they can check out this post. Big ups to Jimmy here on Treasurenet who found it! Nice going!!!

I have a couple ww2 vets here . One is 100 the other is 99 1/2 . about 30 years ago i got to help finding a vet that lost his over in Australia. If you want to hear more of my help let me know

Thanks everyone and to Jimmy in New Mexico for his find of the dog tag. The newspaper in Kentucky near this Vet is writing a story which I will post when it comes out. Probably two weeks.
