I know they wont care about losing one sale, but I can not support a company that will not sell needed parts to the self help guy, me, to fix my excal 1000. I wish I would have known this before I got my newer Excal II or I would have gone with another company.

When you find such a company share it with us, I dont think any detector company will just send out parts....good luck

What are you trying to get? Some items are available aftermarket.

I don't think you can buy internal parts from any detecting manufacturer plus working on it yourself will also void your warranty.

I was able to buy parts from Tesoro, may they rip and Garrett in the past.

It is an Excal1000 i think its a 2007 model by the color of wiring used. I dropped it and broke one of the threaded ends on the battery coil side. I could make it work but I like things to be right. And you can not get that part. I think thats a bull **** way to treat a customer that spent alot of money for 2 excals. 2007 and 2018 excall II. So I think being its a 2007 I think it might be out of warranty.

Thats the part

I have been in that thing I dont know how many times. I take it to about 70 feet scuba diving. Had it apart probably 10 times and have never had a problem. But I dropped it and the pod hit right on the threaded piece. I heard it crack, took it apart and found that. I do all my mods, headphone changes. Easy peasy unless you cant a part. How would you like to buy a vehicle and found out you had to take it in every time it needed something to the DEALER,,,bend over and spread em

Yes, only Tesoro had a lifetime warranty. Anyway, for automobiles, they keep parts for 7-10 years then aren't required to carry the parts anymore. Best thing you can do now is find a used one and buy it for parts if you really want it.

I agree with Smokey 100%!

Yeah, you have a car over 10 years old, that's when you learn all about junk yards. Been there, done that.

Yes but after 7 to 10 years,, NAPA will still have what you need , or Autozone and such.
And I may have to be on the look out for one with a bad board or something. This is ridiculous

That part looks like it could be printed using a 3d printer resin type...

I'm not to sure what you expected, but Minelab is known for their top notch customer service. All you have to do is send it back, and it will come back to you good as new.

If I had a small lathe I could make them,,,,1.75 acrylic rod just have to epoxy in like two plastic 1/4 npt 3/8 barb then find a cap for the 1/4npt that could compress a rubber compression piece into the 1/4 npt of the fitting epoxied in. Dreaming now,,,,,LOL

Yup I got her packaged up to send to Pa service center. I like doing my repairs, why is that so bad?

Whats wrong with being able to buy repair parts?

Nothing wrong with doing your on repairs, but you can't fault Minelab or any manufacturer for not selling parts. As stated if it is under warranty and you open it up you voided your warranty, if it is out of warranty then no big deal.
