Mint error coin?

I got this coin from someone and it looks extremely strange it does not have the copper coating on it and if you pinch it, it will slip out of your hands. Anyone know what this thing is?

Very hard to tell in that picture. On the surface, the coin seems to be buffed to hell. Take a regular penny, put it to a wheel buffer, blamo.

I agree, buffed or possibly plated.

Plated. It's not missing the plating, it's been plated over.

Hard to tell anything from that picture, but we all seem to agree that the surface is not original.
