I've posted some of these before but our new Florida members haven't seen them. The engraved bone pin is Ivory. Shell pendant from Welk. A couple of Wacissa's My phone's camera is not real good.

Those artifacts are magnificent! Love the engraved pin. Are those personal finds?

I found the pendant, black pin, and the white Wacissa. The engraved pin and the other 2 are from southern Brevard County. My fossil buddy gave me them. I was stoked!

Excellent finds. Love the carved ivory as well.
More info please on the the triangular item in the top image?

The whelk pendant: was the worked "lip" around the end how you determined it was a pendant? (Maybe for hanging from a "medicine" bag?)

The triangle object is a guitar pic I put in for size reference. Didn't work too well. The pendant is grooved and cut to size. Lot's of shell tools are made from Welks here in Florida. Hammers, chisels, gouges etc. Here are some Welks found on the beach with natural wear & tear. Tom Clark aka Shellman may chime in with some of his great shell artifact finds. 20201213_090833.jpg

Isn't that a horse conch pendant? Whelks are leftys and it looks like that one is a righty. Here is a whelk tool I dug at lower tampa bay recently.

Beautiful artifacts. I’m guessing they’re all quite rare in any region. I’ve not seen anything like them in the Northeast.
