Good afternoon,

My family owned a great deal of land in Montana, on the outskirts of Great Falls along the Missouri River from 1890 to 1994. My uncle found this anchor in the river, can anyone give me insight into what era and it's worth? We thought it could have been Lewis and Clark's missing anchor because they did walk along our land, it was annotated on a rock with their initials.

I don't think it's an anchor. Looks like a whaling harpoon. Someone may have used it as an anchor, though, I suppose. Lewis and Clark connection is a stretch, IMHO.
