Bored at work (playing salesman today -- blah!) so have lots of dead time. Decided to play around with this mockingbird.

Ironic. I was just thinking, " I'm bored. I hope somebody posted something."

I always imagined a mocking bird was bigger. Don't know why.
He's cute.

You picked a good birdie it’s a good singer and the state bird of my home, Tennessee.

It's a juvenile. Image was taken this spring ... I was just bored and tried to make the image look like rays of light coming through the leaves. Almost, but not quite.

Ah, state bird of Arkansas as well.

I confuse them with cowbirds

They are neat birds. I have a friends in Kansas that had one living in an old swamp cooler attached to there window. Can't remember all of the many sounds they said it would make, but do remember them saying it was imitating the beeps of their electronic gun safe combination.

When we had a chimney a mockingbird would sit up there every morning and imitate our phone ringing. We could hear it in the house. We remodeled and installed a vent free gas fireplace insert and took the chimney down. I miss that bird!

Yeah, it was expensive ... $99.95 at Target. SD card cost about another $20.

There's free software that can give you the same results through a different process.
