Modern mountain man rendezvous site

I swung my detector at a site used by modern mountain men, found a bunch of modern junk and clad, imagine that. A lot of the ground was still frozen and my strongest hit was on frozen ground, couldn't get to it. Anyways it was fun. Sometime I'd like to search a real rendezvous site, why is it old junk is more exciting to find than new junk?

Probably because it wasn't a throw away society back then. What ever you had you worked hard for and it was made to last!

The ground is still frozen here too, just wait'n for the spring thaw! I may detect the snow piles this Sunday and see what I find, probably my sanity!!!

Snow piles can be a great place, Ms. The only gold ( other than my second class ring ) I have found was in a graveled student parking lot. From the location of it, I am pretty sure a snow plow pushed it to where I was able to find it.

Modern day mountain men are just everyday folks from all walks of life who dawn there leathers and furs to spend a weekend living in teepees and wall tents and others come with their fithwheels and generators. They have black powder shooting contests, knife and axe throwing events etc: I think I'm the only one who detects the site.
