In Israel it is illegal to hunt for artifacts, on your own land or elsewhere using a metal detector. Metal detecting on beaches is allowed.

My dad has a collection USA, some of his stuff is from Israel, there are no documents to prove legal status. Is it considered illegal in USA? Does he need to get rid of it?
