20160809_141447.jpg 20160809_141312.jpg Finally after countless fragments I found my first complete ammonite. I found it in central Montana by the little town of Winnett along with this septarian concretion which looked like a turtle and small slab with little sea creature tracks or bumps. I was told that they are from shrimp burrows or something. Anyway does anyone have an idea of the specie of this ammonite? Thanks

Not sure about what species, but it is REALLY cool! I have been wanting to hunt out that way for ammonites for a while now, so hard to get the time and money rounded up to do so.....yet! Congratz!!!

Those are great, I would really like to find one of those large ammonites that are over two feet across. I did see one that was close to three feet wide. I did find one that was a foot wide, but it was broken and missing a few pieces. They are out there.
