I have 8 of the large ones and 6 of the small ones.i know they are military but how old and what branch? i'm timing you Crusader. HB

Post 1941 - when the buttons were made following the heraldic rules which faces the right toward the wearers sword arm.

Prior to that eagles faced left for the Navy.

I hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong.

Is there a back mark, or any writing on the back of the button? What kind of shank does it have.

This seems to be the best example he found... described as close to, if not "Alberts NA123A".
Since I don't have Albert's book or a backmark I cannot help date it.
