After getting gold ring on Sunday in cold Cape cod waters (46 F)- decided to spend the night and try again on Monday
got out 2 hrs before low tide - after 2 hrs and no gold or silver

- went to plan B and hopped in car and ran
to another spot I'd gotten gold and silver at this year (when temps were warmer)
figured I could get hour + in before incoming tide would drive me in

I looked out over the water - less windy here and little calmer - problem was - I saw darkness
in the area I wanted to hunt - tons of seaweed - it was solid from surface to bottom (I should have taken a pic - video would have been better
I had to trudge thru this crap to get to clear area - thickest I ever dealt with)
I saw area out farther that was clear in deeper water -just had to hope it was not too deep
turn my machine on - set it up and swing - bam! - good signal right off the bat - faint - down deep
took four huge scoops to get it - looked in scoop and saw ring - old class ring - but emblem was missing
dated 1943 - hate when emblems are gone - don't know if it fell off yrs ago - if in hole (this was deep and emblem would've been so tiny if in hole - never gonna pick it up) or if it got knocked off while shaking scoop - tried to find it,but no luck
got 2 mercs (1917 - 1941) about 6 feet apart
(don't know about this area - this is saltwater but most of the silver does not cake here- believe me if you look at my album

- I find enough caked silver -so not complaining - just very curious)
- then got a silver ring - marked sterling - so I know its an older ring.
Moved out a little farther and got some deep clad. Then I got a crusted chocolate brown quarter and similar dime not to far apart. Rubbed with my fingers and crust came right off - quick look and they both looked like clad - when I got back to car - looked at them closer and saw quarter dated 1956 - looked for the dime and gave a rub - 1949 . So I did better than I thought
turned out to be a good day
