More early silvers for 2020

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I have posted here. Back in February before all this Covid stuff happened I shipped off for military training and returned in May. With Covid and all, things have been fairly slow. Anyway I and a friend managed to get out here and there and find some ok finds. First place we went was a site where I found the complete eye glasses. I didn’t have much luck there that day but I don’t know how, but my friend managed to find another three silvers, all being Spanish and a copper. Two of the silvers were pierced which is fairly common. We were hoping for another nice American silver... earlier that day I did a field by myself and found another 1896s barber quarter. A few months later we went to another promising site which we thought could be hit... well, it was... HOWEVER whoever did it missed a nice target. My friend scored a nice 1797 2 reale... I got a stinking 1817 copper... haha. However it was now my turn... about a month or so later we returned to one of our hotspots. ( same site that produced the 1818 bust quarter and gold ring). Going through an area slowly I got an obvious signal and while digging saw that beautiful sight of silver. Not knowing what I had I checked the rim real quick and saw it was reeded. Another capped bust dime!! This time from 1823. I was really happy to find another capped bust coin. I am glad to have found it even if it meant my friend finding more Spanish silvers up until then. I know he would have rather had one nice American silver than a dozen Spanish silvers. Coming up in a week or so I’ll be doing another detecting trip, some amazing sites are lined up so hopefully I’ll have some neat things to post!

Congrats on some nice old silvers. 48 yrs. of detecting and I am still looking for a capped bust coin. Have come within 2 yrs. of one, someday maybe.
