Hello everyone!

I've been continuing to actively search the yard and field at the house I am currently residing in, and it is continuing to produce! Since I made the last post (http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/427676-current-haul-ongoing-hunt-1833-farmhouse.html) I've found 11 more buttons (4 of them identical), two indian head pennies (1888, 1901), five wheat cents (1909, 1919, 1919, 1939, 1942), a buffalo nickel (1927) a King George II halfpenny (1734), my third large cent (1827), a musketball, a piece of silver(?), and a bunch of other things! The large cent is currently soaking in olive oil. It's my best condition large cent!

You can guarantee that I will keep at it! Just not today though, I'm so tired! :laughing9: :sleepy2::sleepy2::sleepy2:

Thanks for looking!

-Anthony

Good Haul. If the Halfpenny date ends in 4 it has to be 1754.

Nice digs and thanks for the pics

I'm not totally sure that the last digit is a 4, but I am fairly sure the third digit is a 3.

sweet no matter what, awesome finds, lucky guy to have a spot like that

Great collection of finds there RH97 , plenty of variety , congrats ..cheers Mick

great spot you have there....now get some sleep!

Thanks all! And yes, the fall will be here soon! I'm so anxious to get back out in the fields! I have a good feeling about this upcoming season!

Very unlikely that is the case because your coin dates from 1746-1754.

Is that a 1909 s v.d.b. penny? Great spot and nice hauls. HH.

No, unfortunately, it is a 1909 plain. But my first 1909! Also @IronPatch, upon closer inspection it appears to be a 1744. I looked that particular year up, and it is of the older bust.

Possible if it's Georgius, but it looks like it ends VS, which weren't issued until 1746.

Great Haul!!!...how far down did you find most of these?

Ahh, see I did not know that. I'll have to whip out the magnifying glass tomorrow. And @RiverRat, the average depth for the older items has been 4-6", though some things have come up much shallower.

It's always nice when you find a nice old spot you can go back to. They become favorites and old standbys when you can't figure out where else to go. Looks like you found yourself a good one. When you find large cents and George II pieces your in my kind of territory. Going detecting and finding a Merc or silver Roosie just doesn't do it for me. If I find a half dozen or more it's nice, but other than that I'd rather find one early copper or some nice bottons, buckles or whatever. I live on the NY border with CT and I'm only about an hour from the SW corner of MA so we probably find similar stuff at our good sites. Nice finds and HH.
