Sorry for the sideways photo - did this from my phone (with mixed success).

Are there any silver painted edges?

I haven't seen any painted edges yet.

Anyone find a half with the name "Joe Sardo" written on the obverse in blank ink? The Joe is to left of JFK's head and the Sardo is to the right.

People have seen "Lombardo" but never heard of Joe Sardo.

It could be that. Any idea who that is?

yep I get Lombardo's from time to time

I don't mark coins. I just write NS with a line down the entire wrapper paper, whether its a roll of dimes, nickels or halves. I still think its pretty lame to mark coins and bills. Yeah I know they have the where's george website for 1 dollar bills, but I still think its pretty rude to do that.

Hugs and Smiles,
Garoulady

I came across some green and pink highlighted halves last night and a dated one in Sharpie from October 2, 2008. A lot of marked edges and 3-4 painted silver halves.

And then they get dumped out of the rolls and into bags and shipped off to the fed and you don't know if you are searching your own crap again or not...

Let's keep this on topic. Posting pics of marks and owning your marks. I can see this going where many threads have gone before.

If marked coins were keepers I'd have lots of finds to share here!

I actually find many more marks on the edges of coins than the obverse/reverse. When I empty a roll in my hand and see those edge marks it's a bad sign.

Me too. My first two boxes today were full of edge marks, nada. The third was a different story, I've been working the supply and finally got through some recent dumps. Got 26-40% and 2-90%. Hopefully a good sign! HH

Great box!

Other than CRHSW and TimZim (former spray painters), people that edge search will only mark the edge, not go back and mark the front
