The yard up here keeps producing Wheaties, but no more silver! A few days ago I found the 1927 Wheatie near the sidewalk and today I found the 1945, 1954, and 1957 Wheaties scattered around the backyard. I also found this compact today. The front says "Lady Esther" & "Chicago." The back says "Dear Madam, Don't expect best results from Lady Esther Rouge unless you carefully follow instructions shown in 'My Rouge Guide' Cordially, Lady Esther. Shade No. 4 Made in U.S.A" It even still opens. It is about 1 1/4" in diameter and all I have found out about the company is that it was started around the late 30s/early 40s. Cany anyone help me date this piece?
Tomorrow I'm going to my girlfriend's grandma's yard which hasn't been touched, house was built in 1951, and lots of neighborhood kids played there. Can't wait!
