More on digging holes! back in the 1970's

This post is just and old reminder from the 1970's
This reminds me of the time the Park Ranger wanted me to leave because he said I was making holes and leaving them. I assured him I was filling my holes back in when I recovered the item. This was back in the early 1970's. I told him I wasn't the culprit, he said to me then who is? I said ask the squirrels to cover their holes up after they dig for acorns... They make such a mess of the place. He laughed and said good luck finding pennies....

Yes some animals will uncover a hole because of the scent of fresh dirt looking for grubs or nuts. I've seen this. But I have also seen plugs laying on top of the ground and junk thrown back in the hole. I caught one of these slugs and he was ticketed, fined and had to pay for reseeding the park. If he didn't swear at me he would have gotten a warning. :argue:

Yes the good old days, many bottle caps and inquisitive kids every where.
Park managers kicked back reading a book or playing bocci ball with uncle Al. :headbang:
