Found these searching a creek where lots of civil war activity including skirmishes occurred. Any ideas on these?

The star could be a Civil War hat badge. Texas and Mississippi used stars a lot. I looked on google images for a match but couldn't find one.
That is what I initially thought. Couldn't find any matches either, but it looks simmilar enough.

Cool looking pieces of History. I agree with what was said of the star piece. I usually first think of Texas in regards to a star. Great saves.

The screw hook on the star reminds me of part of a screen door latch. It looks like it belongs to the star so I am thinking that it was attached to a piece of wood. But, I was told thinking could be dangerous to me so I try not to do too much of it!

I wanna say that the screw piece was added later possibly, but I'm not sure. I've talked and shown it to various civil war guys and they all have said that they'd be more confident that it is a cape pin, but that one screw part is throwing them. It looks like the screw was bent into a loop, so it's possible it could've been reused later?
