Well I got out for a couple hours today and Found about 3.50 in clad and a Nice Silver chain!!! The weird thing is the silver necklace which is inscribed "Italy 925" and on the deleon it read at between 29 and 34??? Is this unusual???? Anyways I think I will wear this necklace since it is in perfect condition and is of good quality!!! Will get pics soon!!

For non-deleon users what does vdi of 29-34 usually mean?

I've found silver chains as low as zinc penny...they sometimes get balled up in a certain way in the ground and ID funny.

dj, usually the 29-34 range shows up as nickles, etc. I've also found mercs registering in the mid 70's. I think part of it has to do with a combination of soil conditions and target orientation.

thomas, this might also explain the chain for part of it. Is the chain heavy or light? Was it connected or snaked out in more or less, a line?

I can't help ya on the VDI but I know Stoney can. Congrats on the finds though, especially the chain!

The chain is not light but not real heavy and it was snaked out in a line!!! Maybe thats why it read like it did.

It's possible that it just read the thin width of the chain. I've had a couple of gold chains that would read like baling wire and you could follow the way they were laying amongst the grass roots.
Looking forward to the pics, in the meantime just file that type of signal and sound for future reference.
