While in MI, I had occasion to pass through Coopersville, MI. One of my favorite recording artists from my youth was Del Shannon. This is his hometown.
I went around the block to snap this picture.
Behind this building, which I learned used to be the Coopersville train station, was this fantastic "puffer"!

Also there, were these other gems.

This switcher engine is still in use! It is being serviced.

Also in this train yard is this nice building. It was built in 1899 as the Spring Lake, MI train station. It was scheduled to be torn down to make room for apts. The Coopersville people were able to save it and move it to Coopersville. The developers even gave them the demolition costs to have it moved. NEAT!
It was moved to here in 1999. Most of the building is original! ╦╦C
