Hit the 1812 spot again hoping to turn up something interesting and I got my wish!

Found another GR button and a beautiful 82nd button! I was stoked when I found the 82nd but 20 feet away I made an even better find! I have to believe this is from the 82nd regiment as well, although I know other regiments used the Prince of Wales plumes.

This thing has me a little stumped. It has a brass front with a lead or pewter filling. It is identical to the Civil War eagle breast plates, and has the remains of 2 iron lugs on the back. I am assuming it is a breat plate or something similar, or possibly a bridle rosette. Could be either or I suppose.

Has anyone seen one of these before!?

I am pretty stoked. I love finds like this.

Thanks for looking!

Great relics there! You are on a great site!

It's seeing pieces like that get pulled that makes every hole worthwhile. Awesome finds!

Amazing saves you have there. The button is beautiful! Those are sites I dream of finding. Congratulations

Thanks very much. I am hoping and dreaming of big things this fall. If he wrist fracture would hurry up and heal recovering relics like this would be that much more enjoyable!

Agreed. You just never know what the next hole will have in store. Still a month or so away from most of the crops coming off here. It will be nice to see plowed fields again...
