Richard and I went to our usual spots and picked up quite a few old nickels, some more buttons and a few mercs. Then yesterday we were visiting a friend near our home town and we had the detectors in the car. He gave us the OK to dig his backyard, and man are we glad that we did! 10 minutes into the hunt after a few wheats and relics, Richard pulls out a 1879 Morgan Dollar from about 4" down! Man were we surprised! We never thought we would get a Morgan dollar, especially on a spur of the moment, half hour hunt! Thanks for looking and watching the video! GL and HH!!!

Impressive! That's what perseverance and dedication gets you! :treasurechest::thumbsup:

Congrats on the big silver as well as the others and the coppers. Great hunting!

That's Freaking beauty there and a nice earlier one to boot! I never found a dollar coin, ever, not even a clad one. It's like a cruel joke, like Old Dude never finding a war nickel...but I digress...

Congrats!

Great finds boys, wish I was there for the Morgan dollar chances are that I may never see one come out of the ground.

Congrats on finding a rare-found coin and in terrific shape. Its a shame that most Morgans are worth scarcely more than the value of the silver.

Those IHP's looked really nice and green with some serious details! Cool video.
