A friend's dad passed away and I went over today to help clean out house and came across this! It was sitting outside along the sidewalk up to the front door as decoration, He had been in the excavation business for years... I believe it to be the real deal, but would like your opinion... He has alot of old bottles that he also had found while digging, an from what I was told he had a nice collection of NA points and such but no such luck finding them in house yet... please let me know what u all think! Thanks!

Is about the right size to have been made from a sack of mortar or Portland cement. ...Maybe something to keep rainwater from coming off a roof and forming a hole in the ground? A cheap outdoor sink? Pet water/feed dish?

Sure looks like it could be a large well used mortar to me, are you in the north or southwest or southeast?

Looks like a metate or mortar to me as well. A grinding stone of some sort.

Iam in the midwest. Indiana.

Looks like the real deal to me!

Looks like you can even see where he might have dinged it with his equipment.

Thanks for the input guys! And yes I does look to be hit by heavy equipment or a plow!

This is how it was sitting when I seen it! I deffinatly don't think that is the stone for this specific mortar but still kinda neat!

We have one very similar and the same kinda thing, the guy I bought it from had it sitting outside, I was worried that our weather here would crack it eventually, so it sits in the house now! Great relic!

Thanks!
