Nice little point but I'm gonna say no on it being a turkey. Close ups of the flakin and side shots would help.

I agree with "fishstick" it's very small for a Fulton or Harrison Turkeytail and the napping is vague but on the other hand "books" often only show classic examples while the fact is many variants of a particular type or of a particular piece of material may not look "textbook" accurate. Since it was found in Illinois, I'd guess small Turkeytail too that didn't quite flake the way the knapper wanted it to around the base. Nice find Dirt Fisher!
