Today I found the most coins on one outing at a local small park at a lake. Fifteen penny's and three dimes I was really thrilled. This was the first time at the park, got my share of pull tabs and bottle caps, a rusty can lid and tin foil. Most coins were in the area of picnic tables, one dime was by the parking lot 15 feet from my car. This is a park I will be going back to because beach goers use it mostly on weekends. I want to find more SILVER, not so many copper pennies, but will take them anytime. Where there is copper there is silver you just have to keep trying till you DO!

Awesome! Hey dig deeper now, I gotta ask, what do you think of the balance and weight of the Safari? I am impressed that you went whole hog and chose the excellent Safari as your first machine. Keep at that park, the deep stuff cant hide from the Safari.

Nice finds - the first finds are always the best dig deeper now. Thanks for sharing...

Welcome to t-net! :hello::icon_thumright::occasion16: I've been detecting over 2 years with some wonderful finds, but I still love to find dimes! Especially on the beach where dimes seem to enjoy doing disappearing acts in the sand, lol. Digging my first merc dime this year in a tiny junky park was a thrill. HAVE FUN & BEST OF LUCK TO YOU! That is a great question. I did not know how it was going to balance, reviews said it was good. Now that I have it and used it a little. It truly does balance quite well, with most of the weight on your arm it feels pretty good, better with your arm in the holder. With the 11 inch coil and the shaft down from your arm, balances better than you would think. I added two 3 x 3 small blocks of 2x4 two each side of the ground stand, to keep it a little higher off the ground when you set it down. Thanks for the inquiry on balance of the Safari.
