Hiked into the woods today to detectorize at an old house and found this lighter and about 8500 mosquitos. The lighter doesn’t look terribly old and looks like a map of Japan. After donating about a pint of blood to the mosquitos I moved on down the road. On the way home I stopped in at a park in the hood. Never scored silver at this park but have found several wheats before. I was about to cut out when I got a good signal and out pops my second war nickel.

Nice lighter I don't know why but I find lighters like pull tabs. Nice war nickel from the war zone . Sqeeters are crazy here also

Cool lighter buddy! That is an Omega lighter made in Japan, big in the 50's. Cool find!

I searched Google and found a few lighters - just about all were listed as WWII type - here is one...

hahahaha yeah most likely! I guess since some deer ran off when I walked in they at least had to settle for me.

Hey I found one of them.
I was actually able to fix and use it.
it was engraved & Belonged to a Person in the Military.(a former Neighbor)
I Believe yours Was a soldiers lighter too

Yeah, I hear ya on that. I actually had a couple lurkers scoping me out. I carry a sharp knife and a big shovel. To be honest if I had to it would not be the first time I stabbed one. Caught a guy robbing my ex wife’s truck years back. Instead of leaving he decided to come at me. When he left some of his guts were hanging out. There is some good stuff in the hood cause people don’t wanna risk it. Get some bear mace.

not quite the same actually.
Mine was Carved by the Neighbor with a Pocket Knife.
Just his Military Info.
May have been considered Trench Art.
My Using it Degraded the Info
