Took my kids with me this evening to detect the local park swimming hole. My 13 year old son has a Fisher F2 and my 11 year old daughter has a Bounty Hunter that I got free with a MX Sport I bought. She stayed at it for 2 hours with me but my son called it quits after a few minutes. She found some coins and some junk then she pulled what I thought was a pull tab out of the sand. she took it to the waters edge and rinsed it off, turned out to be a very pretty .925 engagement ring. She is so excited and says she can't wait to go again.
We found a total of 6 rings this evening, a great evening hunt for sure. The best treasure though was spending time with the kids.

That's all it usually takes is one great find and they're hooked for life. :notworthy:
A professional jeweler would shine that ring up beautifully.

Purchased a better detector for her from another Treasurenet member on here. Looking forward to receiving it and presenting it to her. Thanks Gary for the deal on the Simplex+ WHP.

Took her ring to the jewelry shop and had them polish and test it. All the diamonds are real. She is one happy little girl.

Well....after looking at your daughters ring for along while, I realized I found the exact same ring a few hunts ago. As far as I can see they are exactly the same....only difference was mine had the remains of gold plating on it. Pretty wild coincidence !! 20210806_093256.jpg

That's the same ring. We were at Walmart last night and saw the same ring on display in their jewelry counter for $58 so it must be mass produced. Yours is tarnished and would polish up nicely. Cool find anyway. I like finding rings no matter if they are junk or not.

My son found a "Grateful Dead" ring on his first hunt a few years ago and was hooked for a while. I think he had to go to the bathroom this time or he would have stuck with it.

The silver ring your daughter found cleaned up beautifully, I'm sure she'll love wearing it when she gets older too.
I had to laugh when I read that your son had to use the bathroom when you were detecting... this often happens to me now that I'm older, thank god for adult diapers. :laughing7:
