Found the 1910 under a 4 inch root of a big hardwood tree

Found the liberty quarter in a big field where I also found another 20 coins 1812-1930. The date is completely gone tho..shame.

Sweet jesus, look at the luster on that 1910! That's a $100 quarter, easily. Correct me if I'm wrong, Rick! :)

Awesome finds, man.

heres a better pic of the 1910

beautiful 1910 quarter and I can't wait to find my first standing liberty :-)

That Canadian quarter is a luster beast! The standing lib quarters are notorious for worn dates. We can rule out the 1916 date though :-).

WTG!, nice silver finds.

That is the best luster on a silver quarter I've seen in a while, nice s SLQ

QUESTION IS..

How does a coin stay in the ground for 80-100 years and stay in such pristine shape?

It came outta the ground like that...I only rinsed it with water from the tap..NO CLEANERS.

I had went back to that site--an old school house torn down and grown up with trees and alders...for a last try as I got blanked 2 days in a row there..thought it was finished.

But went to the far corner where a couple big hardwoods stood and bang.... the silver rang out like it was on top of the ground...very loud signal...although it was 6 inches in the dirt and directly under a 4 inch root.

Guess its like they say....no place is ever really hunted out.

Is there anyway to tell the date for the.... standing liberty ????

its obviously worn off... but is there another way

Great finds ! that Edward V11 is a dreamy looking coin for sure !

TY ARGENTIUM

THOSE SILVERS DON,T COME EASY

They seem to be quite rare to find around here..or I,m just not looking in the right places

You might try a rubbing. It worked on my 1749 kg11. The 9 was almost worn off.Great finds:occasion14:

Sweet finds, That's the best looking ground silver I've seen in awhile. Congrats and HH!

You should warn people to put on sunglasses before they open the picture of that quarter. Talk about luster! Nothing like seeing a silver coin with so much luster coming out of the ground. For being over 100 years old that coin is one of the most attractive coins I've seen come out of the ground in quite a while. Nice finds.

Wow, that Canadian is beautiful. I think for that date it would be sterling also. Great find!

Try this, it will get you close.
Educational

Almost forgot, nice finds, thanks for sharing them.

That's a really sweet looking Edward congrats on the find they don't come out much better then yours, the SLQ isn't too shabby of a find either.

Great save! I always wonder about the lives and history about who dropped em. Guess I have too much time on my hands.
