My 2007 Coin, Ring and Junk Totals

I thought I would post my best finds and totals now for 2007 (although there is still some detecting time left this year). It is raining so it is a good time to go over my spreadsheet and compile a list. Luckily I am blessed to live in a part of the USA that allows me to detect year round. The only thing that stops me is the occasional rain storm and heat wave. For some of you, this might be a drop in the bucket to your totals. For you newcomers, you might be in awe. For me, I am very happy about the year I had. I hope next year is as bountiful.

Highlights for the year: Finding my first Barber dime and Buffalo nickel. Being able to MD together with both of my brothers; my wife and my grand-daughter. Finding 2 gold rings in one day while at a park with my mother, daughter and grand-daughter. All in all, it was a year of great memories.

(10) Silver rings (marked .925 or sterling)

(4) Gold rings (marked 12, 12, 14 KT)

(17) Junk Rings (Kids, non-silver or gold, not marked, a ring is a ring is a ring type ring)

Relics and Miscellaneous Stuff

Early to mid 1800’s Eagle and Shield beat up powder flask, cap grenade, Greyhound Bus drivers button, old metal buttons, 1959 Alaska Token, self applied top medicine bottle, brass shotgun shell, foreign coins, Hot Wheels, Tootsie and other kids cars, 14 KT Gold religious pendant, clay marble, Lea & Perrin’s bottle stopper, sterling Yosemite Falls tag, brass shotgun shell, 2 dog tags, cat collar tag, keys, 2 Boy Scout Scarf Slides, Monopoly top hat game piece, 2 magnets (which made the Ace go crazy), lead sinkers, trophy plaque, brass hose nozzles, axe head, arrow head, lots of other brass and coppers pieces I’ll sell as scrap. Also lots of pendants in the bark lots and other goodies.

Oh, and lots of pop tops, can slaw and foil.

All in all it was a great year. I only got yelled at 3 times by land owners but that is a whole different story. Just for the record, only once was it justified.

I hope to have another stellar year next year. Maybe next year I will find that elusive gold coin.
All found with a Garrett Ace 250
