My 2008 Fla. vacation finds

Just returned this past weekend from my annual 2 week vacation on Longboat Key at my timeshare condo. I spent alot of my time hunting Coquina, Manatee public, Siesta and Cortez beaches in the water when I could actually get in there due to the rough surf that I encountered most of that time there. I hunted a little bit in the dry sand with my Sovereign GT and noticed that the public beaches are (not surprisingly) pretty picked over on a regular basis. I did manage my best ring of the trip a Platinum anniversary band with seven diamonds found in the dry sand on the beach in front of my condominium complex, so you never know when or where it will show up. I also managed two more gold rings and a couple of gold plated over silver bracelets in the water and wetsand at some of the public beaches like Coquina, Cortez and Siesta beach where I found a nice 14k heavy man's wedding band in the water and ran into Ken McCloskey hunting with his deepseeking Aquasound detector it was a pleasure meeting and talking with him. I also got to hunt and visit with a couple of friends from the forums that I see every year when I'm here Mark (FSS) and John (John west central fla.). Anyway the weather was great (except for the south southwest breeze) and following are some pics from my time there.....almost can't wait till next year!! Oh by the way.....Mark....you have your beaches back....hope that hole opens up again on the south side of that pier....you know...the one where I found that class ring after you decided not to hunt that spot earlier in the day....LOL .....Can't wait for next year.....have a great season guys....HH.....Brian

I keep hearing you can't find chains with an Excal... Correct me if I am wrong, but I saw a bunch of chains in this post, AND a BBS 1000 coil... hummmm Guess what I ordered tonight.... If you guessed an Excal2 1000 you would be correct.. Great job on your finds!!! Wish me luck, I am heading to Destin in July with my new toy...

You can't go wrong buying a Minelab Excal. I have found no chains, but did find a lobster claw to a chain or necklace, go figure....

I am more into hunting for gold rings then chains, lot more diamonds attached to rings then chains......
