Detector(s) used
Fisher 1266
My friend was starting an excavation project and I stopped down to see how it was going. He had popped 3 blocks of sidewalk so I grabed my detector to see if anything good would show up. About 5 minutes into it I found an indian head penny then a few feet farther another one. After 6 hours of detecting this is what I found. 32 indian head pennies from ranging from 1859 to 1906 two of which are not shown because I gave them to my friend. 6 wheats 5 of them from the teens. One shield nickle. Two V nickles. A 2 cent piece. An 1837 Canadian bank token. A 1854 seated quarter. Two seated dimes(1886, 1887). A Schulenburg billiards token and a Hahway WW1 era lighter with a 1912 patent date. This is one day I will never forget. Thanks for looking.

Sweet recoveries :icon_thumright: Congrats!!!

Sweet digs. Love those seateds. :icon_thumleft:

I'd say that is a splendid day in anyone's book. WTG on seizing the momemnt. :notworthy: Sidewalk tearouts can be rewarding to the canny detectorists

Outstanding hunt!!! :o    :icon_king: :icon_king: :icon_king: :icon_king:

Three seateds, a WWI lighter, and enough Indians to start a reservation! I am envious for sure! In one hunt, that's three seateds more than I've ever found! ;D

WTG!

Incredible hunt!! Way to go!! That must have been a plast to dig all those coins...

Those are really some incredible finds there :notworthy: If you wanted to PM me the information printed on the Canadian Token, I'll supply you with more detailed info on it if you're interested. :o

The government authorized 4 banks, the Bank of Montreal, the Quebec Bank, the City Bank and La Banque du Peuple, to issue copper pennies and halfpennies with the arms of Montréal on one side and a standing habitant on the other. These coins arrived in Canada just as the Rebellion of 1837 began and were issued in 1838.

About 5 years ago, they pulled up all the sidewalks from my 1900 town. I was down in the back and could barely walk. The new sidewalks were poured two months before I could walk again. I have been keeping my eyes and ears open, but I doubt if the opportunity will come by again.

Thank's everyone for the kind words. I'm still trying to figure out why there was so much traffic on that sidewalk because it wasn't on a main road and really no stores within a couple blocks in the 1800's. :icon_scratch: I will check the dates and let you know if there are any good ones. Thank's again and good luck hunting everyone.

P.S. I went back today and found a 1903 indian head, a couple of wheats and 1920's bus token..
