Metal Detecting
I was a very lucky Detectorist in 2017. Before I mention the finds I want to say to the new guys and people in other areas of the USA to keep in mind that I do a lot of research and I hunt in the North East which is a help if you want to find really old things in the USA. That being said I did dig a ton of trash and I do know my detectors inside and out. You can only find what is there. Now the fun stuff. Militia Plate 1820, Couple of Militia buttons,Jaw Harp my first, 31 Coppers or so, 4 1/2 Reales, Farthing, KGs of all types, Shoe Buckles,Knee Buckles, French Rapier "Small Sword" 1720-50, Native American Kettle Point 1600s, two pieces of Musket Brass, half a women's sterling Compac,Some seated, these are my favorites I found almost all of this with my Deus using my program with 11" coil.
Happy hunting in 2018 guys please post your finds I love to sit in my chair and look at them. image.webpimage.webpimage.webpimage.webpimage.webp

No wait, you found one of those as well.... jeez, your good.

Awesome finds! But I dont think the guy who carried that eagle plate made it home in one piece.

Spectacular and impressive as always, Todd! In short, you da man.

Congrats cttodd, you pulled some cool history. :occasion14: It's 10 hrs one way to hit colonial from my house. I go East and hunt once a year with a great bunch of guys.

That’s a lot of pretty relics you have there.

Very, very impressive.
2017 was an excellent year for you.

Congratualtions on the very productive year! :occasion14:

You are so right about knowing your detectors and that digging lots of trash, especially for relic hunters... you will do!
