Left work and went straight to our site. Have had some great hunts in the last couple of weeks but today was Epic for me. I found a 1/2 reale, pretty worn but identifiable cross, a George II Irish copper and a great war 1812 artillery corps button with a cannon and eagle. Also found 6 other period buttons and two buckles all in about 2 hours. Snakes and gnats may be ending the season but I got go back tomorrow and see what else is there.

More History brought to the surface of the earth.....a big Congrats!!

Epic, hammered and war of 1812. Great digs

pretty darn awesome, killer hunt

That’s an awesome 2 hour hunt.

Better than we thought. Great afternoon. My head start surendidntnworknin my favor.

Before our afternoon hunt, I told mbcuce and awdw that I either wanted to find Spanish silver or a military button. I found neither, but mbcuce found BOTH and topped it off with a mid 18th century copper.

I quit!

I’m just trying to catch up.

You're killing it mbcuce. Those are some mighty fine digs. Wtg

Epic day is right. 1812 military button still on my bucket list. What’s on the other side of your Spanish 1/2 reale? If there is enough of the shield you might be able to get a date range.

Keep swingin low and slow, there are probably more goodies in the spot.

The back is essentially blank. I'd love to date it but just excited to finally find one!

NICE 1/2 Real cob - Good Job, I was very excited when I found mine, which is my avatar picture and mine had enough detail on the obverse to determine more about it. Here is a couple of larger pictures below of both sides -- I found it in a City Park in Florida within 200 yards of a very old Spanish Mission Fort. Good Luck & Happy Hunting.

I believe it to be a 1/2 real cob based on its weight......it is undated..... and believed to be a Carlos II 1/2 R, minted between 1668 and 1697. Thanks for looking.
