Yeah, fairly good detail on it yet. It was quite a shock to find that in a baseball field.

Don't discount what you think may be newer ballfields. I've dug so many 1800's coins out of "newer" ballfields it's not funny. Baseball was very popular in the 1800's. Over time, old coins can move up towards the ground's surface.
Congrats to your brother on the nice 2-center.

Very nice find... It appears to be in good shape... Just goes to show you never know what you're going to find when you start swinging at even the most unlikely places...

That was the only coin we found on the actual field...outside the field produced a merc and some wheaties.
