My Camera Died

My Sony no baloney digital camera died. Shopping for a new one. Way too many choices out there. What camera do you use? Do you like it? Does it have a macro setting? I take a lot of close-ups. I figure I have a $1000 limit. What brands/models would you look at?

When my camera died I got out an old Pentax I had in storage. It died in storage! Now I have 2 digital cameras in my garbage can.

Your so right about the endless options out there in the market place.
I bought a Nikon P1000 this past year.
As most wildlife is out of range with anything else that I had.
This is a 900ft photo

Not the best of conditions, and just playing with remote setting off the smartphone.

Nikon B 700,I do not know of a finer point and shoot.This camera is not produced anymore.I originally owned one and had to send it out for repair,they wanted 380$,so I bought one from here,it looked BRAND NEW when received.You will NOT be disappointed it is one fine camera.

Considering weight(5 ozs.), size, and vibration any mid priced point & shoot in 16-20 MP range takes pretty good shots.
The problem is their life span

Chris, that camera of yours takes outstanding macro shots..

For what you have to spend, I would consider looking into a Sony mirrorless digital camera.

Your B700 sure does do a nice job with the macro. I'll be looking at that one.

Yeah those are excellent macro shots. But I do keep in mind worldtalker would probably take better pics than me if he only had a Polaroid Square Shooter 2, haha! I use the Canon Rebel. The professional photogs I see up here are using mostly Canon and Nikon, but they seem to lean more towards Nikon.
