Detector(s) used
I’ve used about all modern ones but right now: CTX 3030, White’s MXT Pro, XP Deus, Vaquero, White’s TRX
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
These are my finds for January 2014. It was a tough month, because we would have one warm day in the 60s' followed by a week of rain or sleet and freezing temperatures. I worked really hard this month procuring new houses and places to hunt, but the silver just kept hiding from me. I managed to squeeze out about 30 wheat pennies dated from 1911 on up.

I feel for you. I have to "get my swing on" at least once a week. This past week has been too cold and we have ice and the same for next week. I have to surf Treasurenet and be happy for everyone else who's detecting when I can't get out.

Killer gold!

Pointman, sounds like the weather we're having this year. I like the silver pen cap. Looks like a Waterman Overlay early 1900's. I would go back to that spot and look for the rest of it.

Great suggestion. Inside the cap has the original quill. The cap says "Clip Cap", "Ideal" and Sterling in small letters. I found this cap with a different detector then my CTX, under a very old magnolia tree that produced about 12 wheat pennies and 5 silver dimes. Shows that even a high end detector will miss a few things.

I went to another area the following week with a friend about 5 miles away and he found another Alabama token that looked like it was mutilated by a lawnmower. I will post those finds soon enough.
