Well with the price of gold so high I decided to take the 8 gold rings I've found over the last few years and see what they were worth. I came home with $1,068 (the class ring was my own)

Very nice! I do the same with most of my gold (which is never alot), figure it helps pave the way to get the thumbs-up from my wife when it comes time to buy a new detector.

Was any of your 10K gold "filled"? I have some rings like that, at one time buyers would not pay anything for them. Maybe the price of gold is up enough to where there is interest in 10K filled
