Some clad coins and a kids pendent. Had hard time hunting through the snow.

Thanks guy I had some bad interpretation with the snow not sure y the md was freaking out going hey wire. To calm it down some I had to put it on all metals and it seem to calm down. Do u know why this happens. I'm new at md

Well. I really don't know your machine. But, maybe it was some air interference? Or highly mineralized ground? Or maybe you have a loose connection/battery?

There could be sooooo many reasons!

Maybe someone who knows the machine will help.

Could be Emi from
overhead wires,cell phone,police radios,under ground wires,electric fence, CB radio could be any or all...or a bad ground balance...steel toed boots....The Tek. line is prone to Emi Fisher too so lower your sensitivity a little it will help.

LOL, yes I made the mistake once one day while hunting a very muddy place. As soon as I started swinging my detector kept going off on every swing. I dug and dug but found nothing in most holes. Tried different settings on the detector but it still kept going off. After a few hours of this I gave up and went home to try to figure out what was wrong with the detector. I went in my yard and started to swing again and the same thing kept happening. Frustrated I went in the house and got one of my other detectors and that one did the same thing..That evening getting ready for dinner I removed my boots and that is when I figured it out! metal toed boots!! never felt so dumb in my life.

I have the teknetics gamma also, I have a horrible time if my iPhone is on. Especially if I get a text or a call, I shut it off now when I'm out in the field so it's a non factor now. Just my experience, yours may not be affected by it at all. HH

My M6 screen display is a little slow when it's cold out, and my pistol probe will make it chatter as will EMI of over head wires. Guess I'll have to buy it a jacket and ear muffs! Lol!
