If you are thinking Iā€™ll be showing you metal detector finds Iā€™m afraid youā€™ll be disappointed. If you like nature and wildlife I think you will enjoy these pictures. My wife and I were on safari and I did not have a detector. They mine a lot of gold in Madagascar, but the people for the most part are poor and they havenā€™t used coins for a good while. All of their transactions are made using paper money. The smallest bill I handled was a 100 ariary note which is worth about 2 cents so all commerce can be conducted using bills. We went to villages and around the country by bus and car on our tour and we got to see the conditions of the people. We also traveled to Botswana. They accepted US dollars and all our time was either in a game camp or at the airport so I canā€™t judge the state of their economy. But everywhere we went the people were friendly and nice to us. I did find one coin in the Johannesburg airport, a 5c from Namibia.

I am interested in all creatures great and small as you will see. I wonā€™t post pictures of everything, (I took over 2000 pictures) but here is a sample of the things we saw. Enjoy.

NOTE: the eagle is an African fish eagle and it looks a lot like our bald eagle

Great pictures! Is that a leaf tailed gecko on the tree branch?
Thanks. The 3rd lizard picture is a leaf tailed gecko sleeping. They are nocturnal and on one of the night walks I did get a picture of one awake and moving around. When sleeping they are really hard to spot.

This picture was taken at night with flashlights shining on him so it isnā€™t the best quality.
Thanks again, stay safe, good luck nd keep swingin.
