Don't bash the clad, lol. Cashed my clad diggings in a while back, $300, cashed in my scrap brass and copper,( some from diggings) $100, coughed up another $200 and bought a spare AT Pro. Could have paid for the whole thing by selling some of the bling I found with my AT pro .
You better give the hobby up now Mister, this is not the last nor the 1st of frustrating days. As I said take what you get or quit, simple as that.
Lou.
Keep looking, the good stuff is out there. Clad is solid practice for your pinpointing skills. Try to do a little research into the history of your area. You may find some good spots where there was a lot of activity before 1964 (silver/clad cut-off). If that doesn't work, drive around, find an old farm house, put your best smile on and ask for permission.
